• Hey guys,

I am fairly new to wp, but I am slowly becoming more literate. I know how to make a drop down menu by shifting one menu item slightly to the right of the main menu button (appearance > Menus), but whenever I do this it adds a permanent menu item instead of one that would only show up when the mouse hovers above the item.

I am guessing that the problem is not coming from “Appearance > Menus”, but rather “Edit Themes” section. This is where my short fall is. I am assuming there is a short code I could add in somewhere that would allow me to enable drop down menus.

I should mention that my site was migrated from html earlier this year and I have emailed the company that migrated, but they are taking ages to respond.

    My site: http://www.mindovermuscle.com.au

Please let me know if there is any other info needed.

    Much appreciated! 🙂
    Matt.

  • If you had any drop-down menus in your original site, then the company that did the work should have included these as well, but if there wasn’t any there before then they’ve probably not thought about that and left it as a standard menu that will just show everything.

There are ways to get around that, but they do involve a bit of editing and coding to get it done. There’s probably some plugins out there that can give that sort of functionality so I’d suggest searching for something in the plugins area to see what’s around.
