    Yes, you can go to Events > Settings > Formatting > Search Form and set No for all the dropdowns except Categories.

    But how do I ad that in appearance-menus so it shows on top menu

    I have added categories in evets-event categories
    in event-settings-formatting-search form all are NO except Show categories?

    In appearance-menus-categories i see nothing?

    hmm, did you mean in the backend menus? or what do you mean by “appearance-menus-categories” ?

    You need to create a link with a query string. You need to see how the search form submits via post and create a similar link but using GET variables.

    e.g. yoursite.com/events?action=search_events&category=52

    then create a menu item with a custom url
