[Resolved] Drop Box Authentication Error

  • I have brand new site and just uploaded updraft.
However when trying to authenticate dropbox account I got this:

Fatal error: mcrypt_create_iv() [function.mcrypt-create-iv]: Could not gather sufficient random data in D:\Hosting\6273691\html\wp-content\plugins\updraftplus\includes\Dropbox\OAuth\Storage\Encrypter.php on line 52

Any direction appreciated….ps im a low level wordpress user with a good basic understanding of HTML and building sites using templates, etc but I am certainly not a wiz nor a code writer, so a little more detail appreciated. Thanks in advance. PS this is the 5th back up I have tried, so far all have had bugs.

    Hi,

    Thanks for the report…

I’m happy to say that that one is not an UpdraftPlus bug… it means that your web hosting setup is partially broken. One of the functions in UpdraftPlus requires a provision of a tiny amount of random data. Apparently your PHP install can provide none. You need to speak to your web hosting people and point them to this thread. They will immediately know what to do about it.

    David
