• Hello,
Yesterday I uploaded the new version of wordpress to all of my websites…I then went into my custom menu feature to add more topics…I tried to drop and drag my items into subgroups for my navigation bar, it will not allow me to do so….I spoke to my hosting company and they said there were no errors on their end. I’ve tried to reupload an older version of word press and I’m still getting the same result. I’ve also deactivated all of my plugins. An administrator from the Studio Press forum told me it was more than likely an issue with installation. Any suggestions to fix this? Thanks.

  • You may have to wait for the compatibility issue before it can work again.

If in fact you think it’s an issue with the installation, you may need to re-install the latest version of WordPress.

    Richard and Tim,

Thanks for the feedback. Should I try to manually upload the latest version of wordpress vs. doing it automatically through my hosting company? Also, what is this compatibility issue all about?

Anytime there’s a new release of WordPress, developers may need to update themes and plugins to be sure they function correctly with the new version. Typically, I wait to upgrade my sites to let the “dust settle” a bit. You can try the automatic upgrade, and if it fails then you’ll have to do a manual upgrade. I’d suggest creating a full backup including your database prior to attempting anything though. I hope this helps!

    Tim,

It sure does help…I might want to try that in the future to wait until the dust settles when the new updates are available…I just did a backup of my databases and files but I am still reticent to upgrade to anything on the site that I’m currently working on. This will save me a lot of time and frustration if there are any qlitches with the new upgrade/updates…thanks again….:)

No Worries! I’m glad I could help you! I updated my live sites today without any errors. So fingers crossed, most of the themes and plugins are now fully functional with WordPress 3.3.1
