I have a website hosted by GoDaddy. I want to redo the website completely in WordPress. I downloaded the WordPress file to my desktop and uploaded it to the website file folder via an FTP site. The instructions say:

Open wp-admin/install.php in your browser. It will take you through the process to set up a wp-config.php file with your database connection details. How do I do that?

I downloaded MySQL to my desktop and ran the file (loaded it) and download PHP and opened it in Winzip and have no idea what to do with it. It contains 16,594 files.

All I want to do is get on WordPress using my host (Godaddy) and my domain name, upload a free Theme and start editing, but it seems there's a mountain of roadblocks unless I buy a new Domain name and host it through Hostgator.

Is there a simple way I'm missing?

    Go to http://your_domain/wp-admin/install.php

    Go to http://your_domain/wp-admin/install.php

That doesn't work. It comes up with an error page saying "Server Not Found"

You don't need to download MySQL or PHP. Those need to be running on GoDaddy.

Did you replace "your_domain" with the actual domain name of your site you uploaded WordPress to?
