Dreamhost Hosting, GoDaddy Domains; website unavailable
-
So I followed the Ottopress tutorial, and want to make sure I’m not missing anything important, or completely misunderstanding anything since my site first “This website is temporarily unavailable, please try again later.” in plain text, and now it shows the Dreamhost “Site Not Found” page.
I have my main install at http://www.trueradiusmarketing.com, and a second site at http://www.trueradiusmarketing.com/hurricane, which I would like to be at http://www.hurricanedemo.com
* My Server IP Address should be the A name for http://www.trueradiusmarketing.com, correct?
* I can use Server IP Address OR CNAME, correct? I don’t need to fill in both?
* Do I need to add http://www.hurricanedemo.com to my domains in my Dreamhost hosting?
* Do I need to point http://www.hurricanedemo.com’s name servers to Dreamhost?
* Do I need to change any other DNS records other than pointing the A record to my Server IP Address?
Am I missing something major? Do I need to actually wait the 24-48 hours for the change to propagate? (I’ve gotten spoiled, and honestly it’s never taken longer than an hour for DNS changes to propagate!). Is there an ELI5 tutorial??
