    Hi

I would like to draw information from a database that is specific to the logged in user and I have no idea where to even start. I will give you an example of what needs to be done :

User logs in and finds a table of information that is associated with his account. The information is sensitive and was previously recorded in person for the user. This information is stored in a mysql database. Think bank account numbers and investment information etc. He must then also be able to update certain information like his adres.

Is there a plug available for this? Any help would be appreciated.

    1. Storing financial information on a server requires advanced security measures.
    2. Storing a customer's personal information shared in the registration process like name and address are not as stringent.

    3. There are plenty of registration or member plugins than can do the registration process (name, address), but you need to review storing and using financial information for clients online for their protection and yours (use a third party secure application) and certainly SSL.

Thank you for the swift response and your input - much appreciated.

Noted that I can use membership/registration plugins, is there any way of pulling data attached to a certain username in a previously set up database? Or would I need to copy and paste the "old" data into the membership profile?

    Thanks again!

Would you be pulling from a WordPress.org installation's up to date MySQL database? If so you can export the whole db, use the exact same files as used with that at new site. Then remove the pages/posts, remove the plugins, etc. ... you will then have a new site with same users. See Moving WordPress. You can fully clone a site at new domain, or clone it at a dev site (usually a sub-domain), then move again to original domain.

If you are MySQL savy, you can move tables, etc. Lots of possibilities but all require a good grasp of the tasks at hand.

Thank you! That is the route I will take. Do you offer your services for projects like this?
