Drag and drop still broken after upgrade to 3.5

    Like many others, lots of admin features broke when I upgraded to 3.5. Per advice in the Troubleshooting WordPress 3.5 Master List, I added define('CONCATENATE_SCRIPTS', false ); just above require_once(ABSPATH . 'wp-settings.php'); in my wp_config file, and that solved some issues (adding media to posts, being able to click drop-downs on my widget-area sidebars), but I still can’t drag and drop widgets into the sidebars. I called my hosting company (1and1, unfortunately) to see if mod_pagespeed was at play and to get them to disable for at least my wp_admin directories, but they say it’s not even supported so it couldn’t be affecting my site.

    Sooo… I’m stumped. Thoughts, anyone?

    You may be having some other javascript issues that are preventing drag-and-drop from working. If you haven’t already checked for javascript errors, try following the steps here to see if there are any javascript errors associated with dragging and dropping a widget. Once you find the error(s), it will make it easier to troubleshoot.

    I find it gallingly frustraiting that the javascript errors on the page you cited there doesn’t have fixes because the damn js errors it uses as examples are the ones I’m getting! Lame.
    I need drag and drop back.

    So, is it jquery 1.8.3 or is it the WP3.5 that is the problem?

    @benerwin: As per the Forum Welcome, please post your own topic. Posting in an existing topic prevents us from being able to track issues by topic. Added to which, your problem – despite any similarity in symptoms – is likely to be completely different.

    In case anyone still still checking this post, I ended up downloading the latest version of my theme and reinstalling it (it was a premium theme, so the update wasn’t listed in the ‘Updates’ section), and this solved the problem.

    So it seems it was the theme to blame, not WP3.5.
