Drafts are disappearing

  • I just moved my blog from a wordpress.com address to my own website. Now when I write a Quick Draft and save it, it disappears. Not saved. No way to publish it.

I’m also being told that people can’t log in to post comments on blogs already posted.

I’m beginning to believe that maybe I need to set up a couple directories — I know when I play Nethack without Save and Trouble directories installed things crash. Is this what is happening? If so, what directories do I need to create (and why wasn’t that done by the installation process)? If not… ????? What do I do now.

Quick draft does not work as expected in 3.8.2. They’re working on releasing a patch to fix the issues, but there is no set date yet.

Use the standard, ‘Post > Add New’ to create new posts, then select save as draft if needed.

Check out the article on WP Tavern about the issue here

    Quickdraft is now fixed http://wordpress.org/news/2014/04/wordpress-3-8-3/

Update core to 3.8.3 and it will resolve the issue!

I updated it. Now the Save button is ghosted and I can’t save it anyhow.

OK, so I went to Post – New and wrote my post. When I returned to Dashboard, lo and behold the Draft is sitting there waiting for me to publish it. Is it supposed to take 15 minutes for a one-paragraph test post to save?
