Support » Plugin: MailPoet - emails and newsletters in WordPress » DPA for MailPoet not needed?

  • Few weeks ago I commented on this thread:

    https://wordpress.org/support/topic/mailpoet-gdpr/

You just deleted my question without any notification and closed the support thread. One more comment from another WordPress user was also deleted. This is very bad practice!

My interpretation of GDPR was that I don’t need a data processing agreement if I am sending the newsletter via my own website and not via third party services.

Can you please confirm or comment this time?

    Thanks.

The author of this plugin did not do that, that was done by a forum moderator because you were reviving an old topic with your problem.

If you need support then per the forum guidelines please start your own topic as you have done.

Thanks for your comment Jan. Good to know that it wasn’t the plugin author. Since my question was related to the mentioned support thread I thought it was the “best place”.

But anyway, dear MailPoet team please comment the following statement:

A data processing agreement with MailPoet is not needed since I am sending my emails over my own WordPress site.

Or are you processing data in any way even if I have this setting activated? If not, I think that a DPA with my hosting provider should be sufficient.

    Thank you.
