I’m using the plugin with NextGEN Gallery and NextGen Download Gallery

On the results page, i’d like the download button to show there as well

The current shortcode for this plugin on the search results page

    [hr_SIS_display_images display="advanced_thumbnails"]

I tried to add the shortcode for the NextGen Download into the shortcode but get an error

    [hr_SIS_display_images display="advanced_thumbnails" template=download]

Any help on getting this implemented ?

Display modes ‘advanced thumbnails’ and ‘linked images’ are the only two display modes, which do not use any NextGEN Gallery code.
You have to use original NextGEN Gallery display modes in order to use the download template of the Nextgen Download Gallery plugin. But I am not sure whether this will work with NextGEN Gallery as well. On the plugin page they recommand to use NextCellent Gallery instead of NextGEN Gallery.

Try to set up an original NextGEN Gallery display page. Try to use the download template together with this original NextGEN Gallery. If this will work for you, you should be able to use the same gallery settings for display of the search result list.
Your point is a question for cooperation of NextGEN Gallery together with the plugin Nextgen Download Gallery. This is independent of any Smart Image Search logic.

is there some sort of conflict you were trying to avoid by not using the NextGen thumbnail and page layout classes and ID’s , so that the css and html matches what is created by NextGen Gallery ? I think if the ID’s and Classes matched , then other plugins like the download would be able to hook onto this plugin

    No, there were no conflicts.
I provided the ‘advanced thumbnail’ display mode at the vary beginning, before NextGEN Gallery improved their template handling.
Now there is in fact no longer a need for the advanced thumbnail mode, which I keep for legacy reasons. You could replace it by a suitable NextGEN Gallery template.
If you want to use the Nextgen Download Gallery plugin, please stick to the original NextGEN Gallery display modes, for which it was designed.
