I would love to help out, but I need a little more information. What does your shortcode look like? Which directory have you set in the settings panel? If you’d like to respond privately to protect any sensitive information, you are welcome to drop me a line at

    Hi webprodigy !

I did use your plugin but encounter the same problem as mrbizu’s above.I think I had installed it correctly according to wordpress method.I wonder if you could help us on solving the issues.Hope to hear your reply very soon.
    Thanks a lot!

Hi Webprodigy, I would love to use your plugin, but it also does not work for me with a clean install of 3.1 with only your plugin and the most basic default settings for it.

I was wondering if you were doing any more development on it or if you know of another similar solution? Thanks so much for your work! I’d be happy to donate just to have this working properly

    I have the same problem

    this is my short code
    [dlprotect file="Agreement-to-Assign-Copyright-for-logo.pdf" visibility="private"]Link Text[/dlprotect]

In your plugin settings I have my directory as /domains/

I then changed the path for uploading files in Settings > Media to my new protected file (wp-content/files) & uploaded the doc on my post/page with the media uploader

not sure what im doing wrong? I’ve also tried adding the absolute URL to the short code which didnt work.

I’m having the same issue. I emailed the developer directly, linking to this thread. I’m wondering if it just needs updated for more recent versions of WordPress?

    I’m using 3.2.
