I’m sorry to hear that. We’re not the developers of the “email before download” plugin but I suspect that plugin to be non up to date. Best thing to do is contact them and ask if they can update their plugin.

Wow, you are quick! Living in The Netherlands I assume :). Thank you for the reply.
Only problem is that I have over 650 whitepapers on my site, changes at this point will take a lot of time. Which plugin would you recommend as an alternative which will be also the quickest solution?

For the simplest use case, I would suggest using “Email Lock” plugin. If you plan to gather more user details in future, then using the free form plugin “Ninja Form” along with “Ninja Form Lock” would be a better option.

Yup, that did the trick. My site works again, now finding a solid solution so I can update everything.
Just download the 1.9.9 version and install it.

– collecting contact details + email
– sending an email with the link
– and eventually sending an email when someone downloaded the email.
