    I’ve just installed the Download Monitor plugin. However, when I click on the links to the downloads, I get my theme’s 404 page. I’ve searched through this forum for help. Found lots of similar queries but no solution. Please assist!

    Hello,

    To debug this, please follow these steps:

    1) Go to the “Download > Settings” menu, click on “Access’ tab and make sure you have selected a page for the “No Access” option. Please note that the slug of this page should not be “download”. Also, make sure there is no page which has the url “download”.
    2) Then go to the “Settings > Permalinks” menu and make sure there is no “index.php” in your site URL or permalinks. If there is, please remove it. Once this is done even if there is no “index.php” in the permalink still click on the “Save Changes” button.

    After doing the above steps, please test again.

    I’m also having the same problem. I worked through the steps to debug and it hasn’t resolved the issue.

    I do not appreciate your running away from this 404 issue. I have now lost 2 days of production changing all my downloads on many websites to another plugin. Your solutions do not work
