This is happening to me as well. I download backups on a daily basis and yesterday I upgraded to version 3.3.0 and today my system does exactly what wpfan1000 is describing.
Prior to this upgrade I did not have a problem.
A speedy resolution of this matter would be appreciated.

Having the same problems.
I logged into FTP hoping to download the backups from there, but the backup folder disappeared as well as the plugin from the plugin directory of my WordPress. Glad that there will be a fix on Monday.
I updated Plugin this morning and still same issue.
If you think the backups are still happening and it’s just a problem with the link, if you can tell me where to find the backup files manually then I can retrieve them this way until a solution is found.
