Support » Plugin: Lana Downloads Manager » Download file not found – error 404

  • Resolved techwinder

Hi, and thanks for making this plugin.
Since I’m a beginner with WordPress, I may be missing something obvious. I followed the instructions, created a download button [lana_download id="67"], inserted it in the page. However on click it says:
The requested URL /v7/download/67/ was not found on this server.

    Any suggestions?

I think this is not a plugin error. There is no such error message in the plugin. – The requested URL /about was not found on this server

The easiest and fastest thing to do it reset your permalinks in Dashboard > Settings > Permalinks and make sure .htaccess is writable so WordPress can write the rules itself.

So this is default WordPress problem. But if you can not solve it, write to me and I will try to help.

    Thanks for the quick reply.
As far as I can tell, the problem is that there is no v7/download folder.
The file URL in the File Manager section of the Download item is
Should the download folder be added manually or something?

No need to add manually. The plugin automatically creates the folder. But if there is no write permission in the folder, there may be a problem.

I think if you successfully upload the file at Download post type and do not write an error message at the upload then there must be the file on the server.

Another problem may be the bad permalink setup. "/v7/download/67/" this is not a folder, it is a permalink.

If you can give me WordPress admin access then I can see the problem. My email address:

Great support and quick fix, thanks.

A question/suggestion: is it possible to present the downloads in a grid with metadata, the way it’s done here for instance:

Technically possible, but this is a very big development. There are many setup options.

In the plugin, I mainly develop features that everyone can use, so I’m doing only general or simple improvements.

Your request is a unique development. But it can be solved. A freelance WordPress developer I think is relatively easy to do.
