Support » Plugin: WordPress Download Manager » Download Count problems

  • Hi. I’m having two problems with the download manager

1] It’s displaying a file loaded into download manager even if it has “0″ downloads. That doesn’t make sense to me.
2] It’s displaying in descending order of most recently added download files. That’s not very useful to my readers. Unless I can show ALL downloads in the widget (which I can’t), it’s not going to show older files that have higher download counts. I hope there’s a way to resolve this.

I’d hate to move on because this is potentially such a great plugin, but I’m worried that the plugin is stuck with this functionality…

    Thanks,
    Bob

    1) may you please explain me little more.
    2) sorting option coming with next update

Hi thanks Shaon for your reply. This is one of my favorite plugins but here’s the problem simply.

As soon as I upload a file (pdf, .xls, .doc, .jpg) it immediately shows up in my sidebar widget. So, eventhough I have not downloaded this file yet, it’s showing up in my download count. The idea is that only the top xx downloads should show up in the widget.

Second problem, you’ve answered, is that it’s not sorted in the widget either. Since I’m only showing 10 downloads in the sidebar, if they’re not sorted, there’s no point in listing them.

Your plugin showed so much promise too.

    Thanks,
    Bob
