Support » Plugin: CodeArt - Google MP3 Player » Download always allowed with Firefox browser

  • Even if I add this code
    [ca_audio url_mp3="http://mycompletefileaddress.mp3" width="433" height="40" css_class="codeart-google-mp3-player" autoplay="false" download="false" html5="true" skin="small" align="center"]
where download is set to “false”, in FF (not in Chrome and in IE) everybody can download my mp3 file. How to avoid it? Thanx

    Hi kkriss

Can you confirm that in FF you see the flash version of the player instead of the html5 one, and in the other browsers you see the html5 version of the player?

    Thanks

The best browser I can use is actually Chrome, as per player’s height, but see yourself in my homepage and also in sidebars. Please contact me if you need more.

    Hi kkriss,

It seems you are using plugin version 1.0.10?
If so, can you please update to 1.0.11?

You sent me some modified files to substitute and then everything was ok, only a little issue with the height where mp3 time is displayed. If you’re telling me nothing will break updating the plugin, I’ll do it immediately… 😉

Oops! Sorry. While in the previous site everything is ok after substituting the files you sent me, in this my other site the player in FF is displayed in flash version and the mp3 file is easily downloadable!! In this site I’m using the 1.0.11 version.

using version 1.0.11 on wp 3.6
download button is always visible on Firefox

whether the value for download is set to “true” or “false” clicking on the button (visible in both cases) downloads “0 bytes” file.

    please help
deactivated till the issue gets resolved.

    Hi akhilz,

If you host your mp3 files on amazons3, the download button wont work unfortunately.

    We know about this problem.

    Hi there

This plugin looks very promising, but for me changing the settings never seems to have any effect. I want to disable the download button and change the dimensions. (I am unable to disable the download button in Chrome by the way – not just FF as the problem was above.) The timing is also showing up in a slightly funny place. Do you have fixes for these issues?

P.S. The way kkriss has it set up in the link above looks fine to me – could you send the files you sent to kkriss?

OK sorry about this, I’ve realised the code was over-riding the Settings (I had download=”true” in that). However, still have the issues of timing displaying funny and cannot adjust dimensions. My site is here.

I’ve sorted most of these now and have posted the remaining issues in a new post. I would delete my previous posts here but can’t find how. Sorry!

my files are not hosted on amazons3, they are self hosted (hostgator).
whether the value for download is set to “true” or “false” clicking on the button (visible in both cases) downloads “0 bytes” file.
