 * I had two RSS-Feeds who were down today (at the moment they are down) and this
was causing a long load time for my page (around 30s before something happened).
I disabled the widget and everything was OK again. So, I checked every RSS-Feed
and found two down feeds. After deleting the two feeds in multiimporter plugin
and activating the widget again, the problem disappeared.

 * right…if the feeds are down, then the plugin won’t work since it relies on good
   feeds.

 * Should be a very important point on your ToDo list in my opinion. If the plugin
can’t get an answer from the current feed within 3-4 secs, jump to the next feed
   and so on.

 * right now, if there is a feed that is throwing an error, the program goes on
to the next feed (unless there is only one feed, at which time it will say there
is an error). Now, since SimplePie is the program I use to fetch the feeds, I’m
not sure if they have a timer that can tell how long they are trying to fetch
the feed and let me set that timer…I’ll need to look into this.

 * great… also, if the plugin is working for you, if you haven’t had a chance, take
a second and rate the plugin by going to

 * I’ve just discovered this problem myself, where a dead feed (these are external
feeds we cannot control remember) makes this plugin pause for 10 seconds. If
you can tell me where i can edit the timeout for feeds, i can lower this to 2-
   3 seconds.

 * Hi,
I’m working on a new version of the plugin that will store the feeds in
the database and process this in the background (this is all for the shortcode
option). If you want to try this out, let me know…it’s still in early beta but
will solve this problem because if the feed is down, it won’t pull new information
but this will all occur in the background.

 * I can test it, i assume putting in a fake rss feed will create the dead feed
issue so i can test to see pauses for time?
