Hello! First forum post here and working on a client’s website so I apologize if I make a mistake in this post.

    Version of MC4WP: 4.8.3
    Version of WordPress: 6.5.1
    Version of PHP: 7.3.27

I created a newsletter sign-up form to collect email addresses using WPForms, and have it set up as a pop-up on the homepage of the website using Popup Maker. I don’t want people who sign-up to have to double opt-in. As of right now, in Mailchimp for the list I’m having these people get sent to, the double opt-in option is disabled. Additionally, within MC4WP, the double opt-in option is also disabled.

When I try to sign someone up in the form, however, they aren’t automatically added to the Mailchimp list. They are still getting an email asking them to confirm if they want to be added to the newsletter. I reached out to Mailchimp for support. They said: “In looking at the way information is coming over from the integration, I noticed that my test signup was passed over the same way we would expect a double opt-in contact to be passed over. What this tells us is that the double opt-in information is getting added before the information makes it to Mailchimp, so there is not a lot we can do except see that it is happening. What I would suggest doing at this point is getting in touch with the developer for the integration to see why that information is coming over despite you having turned off double opt-in within the integration. They should have more information about why that information is being added.”

Let me know if you need any more information. Thank you in advance for your help!

Some integration methods in our plugin can only work with double opt-in. Instead of using the WPForms integration please create a form in our plugin and use that form instead.

Hope that helps. If you have any questions, please let me know!
