    Hello,

We use the MailPoet sending service for our welcome emails and newsletters.

The double opt-in works if people subscribe through a form on our website.

But if we add them manually, be it as Subscribed or as Unconfirmed, they never get a confirmation e-mail.
I assumed that double opt-in was enforced, so I was surprised to be able to add people as “Subscribed” in the first place. In this case they receive our Welcome e-mail.
But shouldn’t they receive a confirmation e-mail first, if we add them as “Unconfirmed”?

In any case, removing the “Subscribed” status would help in making sure that double opt-in is always used.

    Thank you.

    – You are an administrator of your website, you have privileges for that, therefore, we assume you know what you are doing.

    Hi @wysija

Thank you for this fast answer and your continuous support!

Are you saying that as administrators, you authorize us to subscribe people without enforcing the double opt-in?

What if we want to enforce it on our end? Is it possible?
I thought that adding someone with the “Unconfirmed” status would serve that purpose by sending them the confirmation e-mail, letting them confirm their subscription.
But if the “Unconfirmed” status doesn’t send this e-mail, what is this status here for?

    Thanks again!
