    Hello,

We receive twice the same e-mail when a post or a page is updated.
I wonder if it is linked to the plugin WPBackry page builder ? Maybe it saves 2 times the post or the page as some other page builder plugins do ?

Is there a way to fix that ?

    Best regards,
    Blaise

    Hi @blaise38,
    Thanks for your message.

Yes, it’s possible that this is causing the issue. Often this is caused by a page builder saving the post twice – once as normal for WordPress and another for saving the page builder settings as post meta.
Are you able to test on a page with the WP Bakery page builder disabled to see if this is the case?

    Hello,

I have just tested with WP backery page builder deactivated and we still receive double e-mail notifications.

    Hi @blaise38,
Are you now using the Block Editor or the Classic Editor plugin?

    Hello,

I am using the classic editor plugin.

    Hi @blaise38,
It sounds like another plugin may be causing the issue as opposed to WP Bakery.
This support document might help in tracking down the issue but it’s also worth looking at Social sharing plugins or plugins that do something at the same time as the post publishes.

Actually after many useless tests, it is WP Backery Page Builder which creates the double notification (I had forgotten to clear the cache of WP Rocket…).
    Is there any workaround ?

    Hi @blaise38,
    Thanks for continuing to test.

It could actually be WP Rocket, as opposed to WP Bakery, which is causing an issue as mentioned on this page: https://betternotificationsforwp.com/known-compatibility-issues/

Is it possible to re-test with WP Rocket disabled?

    Hello,

OK you are right, it is WP Rocket (I just tried to deactivate only WP Rocket, so there was WP Backery activated, and I received only one notification).
Is there any workaround for this issue ?

    Best regards.

    Hi @blaise38,
No workaround unfortunately other than to use another caching service at this time. There are good caching plugins available for WordPress though. I’ve used a handful but prefer WP Fastest Cache where needed.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi @blaise38,
    Not a problem.

If you like BNFW and the support, please feel free to leave an honest review.

I just updated BNFW to the version 1.7.5 and I had not the double notification. Have you released some fixes ? Or is it linked to something else and I should look for the cause ?

    Hi @blaise38,
    Great! Glad it’s working now.

Not currently but I’ve been in touch with WP Rocket and they think a recent update that I made for Gutenberg/Block Editor compatibility may have helped.

Any other issues, please let me know.

    Hi,
I don’t really know what happens here.
I had to make a rollback of our server for some other reason, and now the double notification is back.
Even if I have updated BNFW to 1.7.5, WP Rocket is up to date too, I have updated our other plugins as it was before the rollback.
But I receive double emails and every administrators/authors too.

    Hi @blaise38,
Are you using the Classic Editor and the latest version of WordPress? WP 5.3 dropped today.
