When create a new BNFW notification for type “New Comment Awaiting Moderation” and when clicking on “Insert Default Content” the follow error is shown

This is a new notification that is not available in WordPress by default and has been added by Better Notifications for WP. As such, it doesn't have any default content.

When finishing up this notification and testing by adding a new comment you’ll receive two (not really duplicates) notification mails

    1) still the default WP mail
    2) the BNFW mail

    Hi @mfjtf,
    Thanks for your message.

The error you’re seeing is correct – as it’s a non-default WordPress notification and a new one that is added by BNFW, then there is no ‘default’ content from WordPress to add. You can however, select the ‘New Comment’ notification, insert the default content and then copy the text, switch the notification to ‘New Comment Awaiting Moderation’ and paste the text there. Previously, WordPress combined the ‘New Comment’ and ‘New Comment Awaiting Moderation’ notifications but BNFW separates them for greater flexibility.

If you’re receiving the default notification too, you may want to check your settings under the ‘New Comment Awaiting Moderation’ section of this page: https://betternotificationsforwp.com/documentation/notifications/types-of-notification/

    Hope this helps.

    In discussion settings you have

    Email me whenever
    1) Anyone posts a comment
    2) A comment is held for moderation

It’s best to just disable them to prevent the double notifications.

    Hi @mfjtf,
Yes, that’s correct. Hope you got it working as you expected.

Yes but your plugin is still not overriding them.

    Hi @mfjtf,
    AH, I see.

If you’ve set up the notifications as per this document then it might be another plugin that is conflicting with it and causing it to not be overridden.
It may be worth looking through this document to see if you can narrow down the issue: https://betternotificationsforwp.com/how-can-i-receive-the-best-support/
