I’m starting a blog to write about software engineering. It will include lots of coding examples in C#, C++, HTML, and XML, so I’m struggling with how to embed code. I’m using <pre>with Preserve Code Formatting 2.5.2. I notice is that the resulting code is displayed in a doubly-nested dotted line, each with its own quotes.

That is, the code is a displayed in a dotted-line box with a double-quote symbol in the corner, and this is displayed in ANOTHER dotted-line box with a double-quote symbol in the corner. See an example at: http://blog.nelsondev.net/

So why nested boxes? Is this a “feature” of the theme, Preserve Code Formatting, or what?

See, THIS is why this forum needs a “Preview” feature. I wasn’t sure how to include <pre> in the Title, so I figured, to be safe, I would embed it in backticks. But all we get to see is the backticks .

I tried some different themes and the problem went away. So it seems to be a bug in the iNove theme I’m using.

It’s a PITA because I generally tweak my themes with my own colors and images, so now I gotta select a new theme and tweak it, but at least I know the bug is in the theme, not WP.
