Double-descriptions for tags

  • Hello,

Does anyone know how to go about creating “individual double descriptions” for tags on WP? Googled, didn´t find mentions about that…

Let me explain: I want to create tag pages that would have two individual description texts about the tag. They would have different styles and they´d be placed in different parts of the page. How should I go about creating those? I understand that it might be complicated, so I´m happy with general description of the process, if deteiled instructions are not available.

Or… is there a way to split the default tag description text to achieve the same thing?

    Thanks!

    –Julius

  • Huh? Descriptions for tags? Tags don’t have descriptions. I think maybe you have your terminology confused?

Tags do indeedhave descriptions — you can see them on the tag edit screen — it’s just that they’re just very seldom used.

To add a second field, you’ll have to hook into tag_add_form, tag_add_form_fields, tag_edit_form, and tag_edit_form_fields. There are some examples that might help get you started in this WPSE discussion.

    Thanks, Amy!
That link you posted looks promising. I´ll start from there.
