• Hi!
After an update of the plugin “Slimstat Analytics” on June 13, 2018 (https://de.wordpress.org/plugins/wp-slimstat/) there were suddenly two cookie notifications on my website: my customized one in German (created via plugin “Cookie Notice””) and a new one in English (“This website stores cookies on your computer. These cookies are used to provide a more personalized experience and to track your whereabouts around our website in compliance with the European General Data Protection Regulation. If you decide to to opt-out of any future tracking, a cookie will be setup in your browser to remember this choice for one year. Accept or Deny”).
-> the latter was created by “Slimstat Analytics”
-> can be changed in dashboard -> Slimstat -> settings

This seems to be a problem of many WP-installations out there:

    Good luck!

Good luck indeed. In an effort to help site owners comply with GDPR, many plugins which utilize cookies have added such notices. Of course your site does not need a notice for every plugin using cookies, but it’s difficult for plugins to know what other plugins are doing. The burden falls upon the site owner to coordinate these notices. As long as plugins include an option to alter or suppress notifications, this is about all we can ask of plugins. GDPR compliance cannot be fully automated, it will require efforts by site owners and their consultants to coordinate and implement correct compliance.
