Should I add the wp-trackback.php protection code in the same custom code area as the XML-RPC DDoS protection code?

By checking whether the code is effective, just go to http://www.domainname.com/wp-trackback.php and confirm if it’s a 403 forbidden error page?

You would use either the XML-RPC DDoS PROTECTION OR the XML-RPC DDoS & TRACKBACK/PINGBACK PROTECTION code. One block of code is protecting just xmlrpc.php and the other block of code is protecting both xmlrpc.php and wp-trackback.php.

Yes, you should see a 403 Forbidden status code/403 Forbidden page when trying to view the wp-trackback.php file in your Browser.
