Auto Attachments
[resolved] Don't show image attachments in Auo Attachments, they already appear in a post (4 posts)

    Hi Serkan,

Not sure if this is a duplicate of "Disable the images only to show" but the EG-Attachments plugin allows admins to choose not to show images in the list of attachments - presumably this is because images already appear in the body of a post and don't need repeating at the end.

This would be a great feature for Auto Attachments - it would mean that users wouldn't have to learn how to configure short-codes to filter the attachments. In fact, I just want the attachments to appear by magic whenever a user attaches things to a post - my users won't even know what a short-code is.

This is especially so for me as I want to put images in posts (and not have them appear as attachments) and I want to attach documents to meetings (and have them show up).

Thinking ahead, it would be good to be able to include / exclude certain post types from showing auto-attachments at all, as CollabPress (for example) already shows its own attachments in a project page/post, so it would be good to be able to switch off auto-attachments for this post type. In fact, it would be good to be able to select only those post types I need - namely calendar events.

    Hope this is helpful.

In earlier version of auto attachments i added a metabox for pages. I can add same metabox (with multiple choices) to show (or not show) attachments in custom post types.

Also i will look the code of EG Attachments. If i can add this metabox (or setting) in right way, it will be pretty good upgrade.

    Thanks for the suggestion :)

Cool. Just to clarify, I'm thinking of a dashboard setting for AA here, not something that the users need to set in each and every post.

    You're welcome :-)

Indeed, I think i can exclude custom post types by nice name.

I need to support all post types but you can exclude them with a comma seperated input variable :)

I will think and research about this.
