    Do you have a Network/Multisite installation of WordPress? Where exactly is the Admin Notice being displayed? What Roles/Permissions do the Users have that can see the Admin Notice?

    Regular installation. I noticed this on a user account that has the role Author. The message is shown at the top of wp-admin pages (the usual place).

    Noticed this after being logged in with that test account and clicking “Mark as spam” link of a trackback notification email sent to the admin account.

    Yep, ok this Admin Notice check/code has been changed from…

    if ( file_exists($filename) ) {

    …to…

    if ( file_exists($filename) && current_user_can('manage_options') ) {

    BPS .48.6 is scheduled for release sometime today and will include this new Admin Notice check/code.
