Don’t Allow Support Threads w/No Solution to be Marked Resolved. Use Abandoned
-
Lots of people come to wordpress.org to look for solutions to their issue. Seeing a thread marked as resolved gives them hope, only to get to the end of the thread and read “Well, you haven’t responded in a while so I’m marking this as resolved.”
This needs to be changed.
If the thread has no actual solution and the author does not respond, the thread should be marked as abandoned.
This doesn’t mean people won’t read the thread because troubleshooting steps along the way could fix the problem they’re having. But to see so many threads marked as resolved have no solution whatsoever is not good for any forum.
