I have the link above set to private. I saw the page about GIVE_SLUG. Why can’t I just have the form as a page? Why does it have to have /donations/ before the form page name? The breadcrumb for the form page is Home > Form > Form title and the link “Form” leads to /donations/ and leads to my 404 error page.

So it’s little odd that the breadcrumbs don’t say Donations or that the slug isn’t /form/. Regardless, I’ll live with the breadcrumb Form leading to /donations/ but do I have to create either a page or category called donations? I don’t want to get dinged by Google.

I lost over 80% of my business because the corona thing. I could use some help on this one ASAP. I set the two forms I created to private until this is fixed. I suppose I could create a page in Elementor but what do I put on it – the form?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @kernix

Happy to help here. There are several options to get what you are looking for done, and I’ll briefly outline them.

With GiveWP, you have the option of either using the form itself (which defaults to /donations/donation-form-name/) or you can put forms anywhere on the site using a shortcode or Gutenberg block. So if you create a page with the slug example.com/donations-page and then embed a form on it, you’re good to go.

To prevent Google from indexing duplicate content, you can then disable the single form view at Donations > Settings > Display Options > Post Types.

If instead you want to change the give slug (that defaults to “donations”) you can do that using the documentation you referenced at https://givewp.com/documentation/developers/give-php-constants/

But it sounds to me like what you are looking to do lines up better with my first recommendation.

We are available to talk through your options here on a live demo, as well.

I created a page called/donations and I added the shortcode to it. The buttons don’t change the values I set, and the last time I tried the form didn’t even appear on the page, only a link to the form. The buttons don’t work on the form. I’ve lost so much time trying to get it to work – there’s something wrong with it.

    Hi Jim,

It looks like you’ve deactivated GiveWP, but if you can link me to a page where you are still having a problem, I am happy to dig in and see what I can find.
