My website has been successfully using the GiveWP Donation plug-in for many months, but a user recently complained that the Donate button is no longer working. I see from the Donations page that the last successful donation was December 6. Sometimes when you click the button, you get a Page Not Found error, other times you get about:blank#blocked. I haven’t made any changes to any of the forms, although we were having some problems with pages that we created using SiteOrigin Page Builder reverting to some other format. I fixed those issues, and in doing so, I did convert the various Donation pages. However, converting them back to use the standard WordPress editor did not fix the problem with the Donate button on our home page.

I tried copying the Shortcode again and pasting that as the Destination URL for the SiteOrigin button, but that didn’t fix the problem.

It’s been a long time since I set this up, and don’t remember all the details about how I did it. It was working great before, and I have no idea how it became broken. Any assistance anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated!

    HI there,

I explored your site a bit and see the problems exactly as you described them.

    PROBLEM #1
When I click on the button at the bottom of the page, I’m experiencing the about:blank#blocked error that you mentioned.

    SOLUTION #1:
Put the full URL of your form as the Destination URL. From looking at your site, I believe this is the Full URL that you need:
    https://cincinnatifriends.org/donations/cincinnati_friends_meeting

The shortcode cannot work as a URL.

    PROBLEM #2:
When I click on the “Donate” link at the top-right of the homepage, it takes me to https://cincinnatifriends.org/donate — but that is not a page at all.

    SOLUTION #2:
I suggest you also update that link to be the same as above:
    https://cincinnatifriends.org/donations/cincinnati_friends_meeting

Once you get both of those resolved you should be all set.

Best of success in your end of year fundraising!

Thanks so much! I didn’t even realize that the Donate button in the menu wasn’t working, either! I have no idea how those URLs could have gotten messed up, but I implemented your suggestions, and everything works great! Thanks again!
