 * I’ve changed the domain name of my site (using the same host), with the old name
parked and pointing to my new one. All’s fine, except that my old posts have
images with addresses that direct to the _old_ domain name. That works for now,
but I’d like to do away with the old domain name eventually. Is there a way that
I can change the links in my posts to the new address without having to manually
edit about 500 of them? _Please?_

 * one way you can do that is export your database and save it in computer and then
open with a editor like notepad++ and search and replace old domain name with
new one save with some other name just in case so you have backup and import
the one you changed with new domain name back.

 * Hmm… that might work! I’ll give it a shot. Thanks!

 * I don’t know much about the WP database files….this is sort of scary! Following
the suggestions in “CODEX WordPress Backups”, I exported a .sql file to my computer.
I then opened it with TextEdit (I’m on a mac) and replaced the old domain name
for the new throughout the document. So I need to rename my original .sql to
something else as a backup….then what do I do with my text file, give it the
name of my original .sql? What do I do after that? Thanks in advance for your
   help!

 * Once you made the changes you can go back in phpmyadmin and click on import and
click on browse find the .sql file you made changes on and click open you will
file in box and click Go
