Support » Plugin: Jetpack by WordPress.com » domain redirect to a page – any conflicts?

Hi, I have bought a domain called tacticalchronograph.com with the intention on using it for a landing page to subscribe people to my mailing list OR send them to my Product page on my WooCommerce shop. (I’ve also done the same for lifesbattleplan.com for the same purpose.)

I created JetPack Portfolio pages for both; I also have two Posts for the Tactical Chronograph, one of which is the URL I’ve publicized to people for a while:

Nonetheless, I’m either going to use these new domains for landing page generators, or I’m pointing them to the Portfolio pages – specifically because the Portfolio pages have a wider screen than Posts.

In fact, I’ve already done this second step (if I’ve got them, might as well try to use them) at my host using cPanel, however, they are not redirecting properly. I don’t know if that’s because I’ve not done it completely at the domain redirect panel, or if there’s a conflict of some sort since these pages are part of a WordPress installation. The hosting company for all this is the same.

    Thoughts?

What is the URL you expect to be redirected, and what do you expect it to be redirected to?

Also, how exactly did you establish the redirect?

I want tacticalchronograph.com to go to “The url that you need help with”

I’ve already done it at CPanel – redirect

Domain	Directory	Redirect Url	Type	Match www.	Wildcard	Actions
    lifesbattleplan.com	/	https://projectica.org/portfolio/lbp/	permanent Delete
    tacticalchronograph.com	/	https://projectica.org/portfolio/tactical-chronograph/	permanent Delete

    cPanel says:
“A redirect allows you to make one domain redirect to another domain, either for a website or a specific web page. For example, create a redirect so that http://www.example.com automatically redirects users to http://www.example.net. For more information, read the documentation.”

I chose “Redirect with or without www.”

It seemed so obviously simple, but it’s been over a week, and it doesn’t work. Wondered if this was JetPack related.

That’s odd, I really don’t see any reason why that wouldn’t work.

Maybe remove those redirects and just forward the domains through the domain registrar? (check their documentation for specifics)

K I’ll have to contact my host, because host and domain registrar are the same company :-/

Judging by what I’m seeing there, the domains just aren’t set up properly yet. Your host should be able to help you connect the domain to the site with the redirect rules, then redirect them to the correct pages with matches.

Jetpack shouldn’t be bothered by this. Good luck!
