• Hi

I have the wordpress blog. Its on bloggermacha.com, the domain name I registered with automattic. It expired on Sep 26, 2009. Now I am unable to renew it. I do not know how to.

When I type bloggermacha.com in my browser, it goes to the page bloggermacha.wordpress.com that states that the authors have deleted the blog.

    Please help me.

  • Unable to renew – because it’s not yet expired? (sep 26, -> 2009 <-)

    >because it’s not yet expired?

    It has expired.

Talk to the old domain registrar.

Terrible advice (“Talk to the old domain registrar.”)

If this is similar to my case, Automattic makes it very difficult to renew your domain name. They send you an e-mail warning you that your domain name is about to expire. They send you to your account link but there’s nowhere on there to pay to renew your domain name.

When you call Automattic, you get a recorded message. Leave a message with your telephone number, but no one ever returns the call.

    Rotten service!

    >Terrible advice (“Talk to the old domain registrar.”)

Ohh… What is your suggestion, then? His or her old registrar holds the domain and will continue to hold it. In order to transfer the domain, he or she still needs an Auth Code from them.

    >Automattic

    What are you talking about?

It expired on Sep 26, 2009

If the domain expires Sept 26 2009 then there’s almost a year until you have to renew it. This is still 2008 unless I’ve just came out of a coma and am unaware of it.

    Back off people.

    Rajesh,

    Your domain expired on: 26-Sep-08

When you bought your domain, how did you do it? Did you open your own registrar account e.g. goDaddy.com? Did you buy it through your host (and therefore they manage the domain).

Search your gmail account for messages from your registrar letting you know that that domain was going to expire…then you know who to contact.
