# DOMAIN NAMBE

 * So my current wordpress.com blog is X but I’m going to change the name get hosting
   and go to wordpress.org. Do I still need to purchase wordpress’s domain name 
   registration?

 * That isn’t necessary, but if you want to redirect your old wordpress.com blog
   to your new WordPress blog, you’ll have to sign up for domain mapping:

 * Ok cool, I don’t think my blog is popular enough to matter so I prob won’t map
   it. I’ll just get the new name and when i download .org all my info should transfer.
   I haven’t promoted it heavily yet so I should be alright!
