    I’m currently using:

    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wordpress-mu-domain-mapping/

And it works perfectly for my needs except that it does not allow access to the non-mapped url.

For example if my network domain is network.com, and I have a site created on that network called Arizona, without the plugin I would access it at arizona.network.com. As soon as I set up the plugin so it maps to arizona.com then I can access it from arizona.com (assuming CNAME setup on domain) – but I can no longer access the site directly via arizona.network.com

Actually – strictly speaking – I can, but only when accessing the wp backend (arizona.network.com doesn’t work, but arizona.network.com/wp-admin does???).

I want to be able to access the site through both URLs so the website is viewable while DNS changes propogate.

Any way to do this – either by modifying this plugin or by using another one? Happy to pay for one too if it does this.

    Cheers,

    Chris

Can’t. Since it’s bad to have two URLs with the same content (SEO blah blah blah), the plugins all prevent you from hurting yourself.

Either don’t map the domain until it’s live, or map it and wait. Though propagation doesn’t take very long these days.

You checked a box that says you DON’T want to redirect the backend. That’s all.

    Thanks Ipstenu,

That makes sense. Okay, onto option 2!
