# Domain mapping issue….

 * btw, I posted this same issue in the plugins forum, hoping to get a response 
   here. Hope that’s ok?
 * I’ve been reading several posts regarding this plugin, so sorry if this is redundant,
   just can’t make heads and tails of it since everyone’s domain names are different.
   So for all you folks who answer our repeated questions – thank you in advance
   for your patience for us newbies!!!
 * I am running a 3.04 multisite subdomain installation with Donncha’s domain mapping
   plugin Version 0.5.3, and have several domains as follows hosted in Hostgator.
 * main domain: logical.net
    1. blog1.logical.net 2. blog2.logical.net 3. blog3.
   logical.net 4. hiforum.logical.net etc…
 * I own the domain hawaii-owned-site.com, bought it from Hostgator as well.
    I 
   want to map hawaii-owned-site.com to hiforum.logical.net
 * If I ping hibiztechforum.net it’s ip is 174.x.x.6
 * So in Super Admin under the Domain mapping I have my server address as: 174.x.
   x.6
    Under domains I have the domain hawaii-owned-site.com mapped to side id #
   4 (hiforum.logical.net)
 * I have hawaii-owned-site.com domain parked: hawaii-owned-site.com /public_html
   not redirected
 * Under the Simple DNS Zone editor I have added the following
    *.hawaii-owned-site.
   com. A 174.x.x.6
 * What am I doing wrong????? I followed the tutorial….

 * This is the part that is wrong. Park it on logical.net.

 * Thanks for replying Andrea, but I’m still confused. hawaii-owned-site.com is 
   parked on the cpanel of logical.net. Do you mean I should redirect it?
    Also 
   I didn’t see it in the directions that linked above? Sorry a little slow here….

 * You need the IP address of logical.net. Is it the same?

 * This statement implies that this domain has its own folder on the server.
 * Did you go to where you registered the hawaii-owned-site.com domain and change
   the A record there?

 * Andrea – you are my hero! Thanks for giving this newbie hope! After struggling
   with the concepts it’s all clear now!!! I appreciate your patience and willingness
   to help newbies such as myself. WordPress MU rocks! One more clarification. If
   I build another blog and map another domain to this other blog do I add it as
   primary as well in the plugin settings?

 * yes, you do. becasue it;s the primary for that other site.
 * Primary domain means “Is this the main domain you want associated with THIS site?”
   cuz you can do more than one, mapping the .com, .net and .orgs all to one site.
   But only one can be the main (primary) one,
