    Hello All,
I'm having some trouble setting up my domain mapping. I was using this tutorial http://ottopress.com/2010/wordpress-3-0-multisite-domain-mapping-tutorial/

I'm pretty sure I have everything set up right. My main blog is http://www.blokmovaz.com with an ip address of

I created another site for a domain i have (www.whoismichaelstokes.com)

I set the A records to point to my IP address

    When I go to
i get a page reading "it works" so i'm assuming that the A record are working and its pointing to my server.

btw I have a http://www.linode.com/ server (VPS server)

The A record I set were as followed

when ever I try to go to the whoismichaelstokes dashboard I'm sent here http://whoismichaelstokes.com/wp-admin/ and I get this error

    "Not Found

The requested URL /wp-admin/ was not found on this server."

Not sure if this is an issue with my server or how i am setting things up. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!!

  2. Yeah you missed a step. the "It works!" is not part of wordPress.

Des the vps have cpanel or something? You have to tell the server where to send the mapped domain request. Right now it's just being dumped at the main default account. you want it to go to the WordPress install.

If you know how to do a ServerAlias, do that.
If you have cpanel, park the mapped domain on the main WordPress install.

    Hey thanks for the response!
VPS does not have a cpanel
For the ServerAlias that would be something I do on my server correct?

    Thanks Andrea!

  4. Yep. your webhost support team can point you to where exactly.
