# Domain forwarding issue

 * Not sure if I have a unique issue or not. I have searched everywhere and found
   a few possible remedies, but not sure if they are the correct ones.
 * I am running Windows Home Server 2011. I have remote access working on ports 
   8080 and 443. I installed xampp on ports 80 and 442 and apache is working fine.
   I installed the latest WordPress release locally and it functions.
 * Here’s my issue.
 * I purchased a domain from Godaddy and was attempting to forward the domain, with
   masking to my WordPress install and changed the URLs in the setup and it was 
   a no go.
 * Should I give up, use the IP address to the blog, or just shoot it?

 * Almost forgot. I added my local IP and domain name in my HOSTS file, thinking
   that was the issue. It wasn’t
