New to WordPress. Am using Go-Daddy and seemed to be up and running. First problem: Couldn’t get any comment function on Page. Found potential solution which was to update Page Theme info. Was unable to save changes. Was then unable to save anything or edit anything or post anything. Re-installed. Was able to comment on standard first message Hello World but was unable to edit that message. In fact, can’t do much of anything. When I save or edit, hourglass goes on forever until it finally times out. What have I done wrong? I changed to Bluehost, launched 2.0 and seemed to have a fairly decent working WordPress. Now I have one of the earlier glitches still which I see others have been having off and on but none of the posts seem to provide a real solution to the problem… COMMENTS function doesn’t show up or appear on PAGE posts. Now I’ve gone in and checked the options and they say allow comments and e-mail (which also doesn’t appear) I’ve made sure under general options that comments are allowed. A very frustrating mystery. This glitch was, in fact, what got my other problems started with my other installation with my other host. (By the way I switched for other reasons as well and have been very happy with BlueHost.) * Anyway, anyone know why this problem is occurring. It seemed to be happening with 1.5 but I can’t find a post from anyone who really knows why it is occurring and what the solution is… Anyone HAVE a solution? Praise BE! * I reverted to the CLASSIC WordPress Theme and bingo, comments function appears like magic. * NOW that’s a glitch! * And that’s a solution. * I am sure there is something imbedded in the classic, perhaps some sort of config function or maybe in comments.php that is different in the default theme, but jeez. If by “PAGES” you mean [Pages](http://codex.wordpress.org/Pages) as opposed to posts, i.e. Pages created via the Write > Write Page panel, and your problem is those Pages not having the comment “function” – that’s a theme dependent thing. _Normally_ comments are not welcomed on a so-called static Page, e.g. I’d hate if people comment on my “About me” page or below my contact form on the Contact Page… * Therefore most of the themes that have a `page.php` template will **not** have the call for the comments feature by design! I, too, have difficulty posting a comment–in my case, I click to the permalink on any particular entry, enter a test comment, and then wp-comments-post.php just shows… you know, nothing. Argh! So I tried the “apache” fix, just poking around, but I still got nothing. I don’t understand the problem; I set up wordpress for a friend, and good golly, it was just fine. So, yeah. I’d happily move to the classic template for a quick-and-dirty tech- stupid fix, except that I like the changes I made to my template, and don’t relish the thought of tossing them. I did change the permissions on comments-post, but that didn’t seem to rectify it. What am I missing?
