Support » Plugin: Turbo Widgets » doesn’t work with Divi

  • To replicate: try to add a Turbo Widget in the editor, choose RSS, and try to configure a RSS feed.

Either Turbo Widget or Divi mangles the output like this:

    [turbo_widget widget-prefix=rss&obj-class=WP_Widget_RSS&rss-url-=http%3A%2F%2Frss.slashdot.org%2FSlashdot%2Fslashdot&rss-title-=slashdot&rss-items-=10&rss-show-summary-=false&rss-show-author-=false&rss-show-date-=true]

  • The code tag didn’t preserve most of the problem as it converts html entities.

It looks like this is an issue with using the editor, as the previous plugin Widgets on Pages worked fine. Turbo Widgets tries to add html parameters to shortcodes and either Divi or the WordPress editor is converting those html parameters (eg. the URL in the RSS widget) to html entities.

We’ve moved back to Widgets on Pages and its shortcodes avoid this problem.

Hi, I’m not able to get it to work on Divi. Help please. I’m very novice at this but if you give me a shortcode to put in somewhere I can handle that.

Hi, there is an issue with DIVI, sorry.
Perhaps you could try my Widgets on Pages instead as I currently don’t have a fix for this.

And sorry, that’s not to say DIVI is at fault, just that there is a conflict somewhere.

OK, thanks. I just upgraded from Widgets on Pages to the professional version last night. So I need to just go back to the free version, right? Could I get a refund on the professional version?

Oh, I’m a bit confused, this support thread is for Turbo Widgets, is that not the plugin that you had the issue with?
If not, and it was an issue with Widgets on Pages then I can support you via email directly.

Apologies if this does not make sense, I myself am a bit lost.

Wait, I’m confused. I wasn’t able to get either the free version or premium version of WfP to work in Divi. Does the free version work? What am I doing wrong? Also, the short code is the same whether it’s the free or premium version, so what’s the difference?

Oops, sorry! Yes, it’s for WforP, not turbo. I put in WforP in the search and must have missed it that it was the wrong widget. Did I mention that I’m a complete novice? Yes, please email me!

    Aha… now it’s making sense 🙂

So I have a couple of different plugins out, Widgets on Pages, and also Turbo Widgets. You have posted into the Turbo Widgets one, and I know that Turbo Widgets has an issue with DIVI.
