# Doesn't work – SQL Error

 * I get this in my error logs:
 * `WordPress database error COLLATION 'utf8_general_ci' is not valid for CHARACTER
   SET 'utf8mb4' for query...`
 *  I have a very usual install unfortunately. This plugin is still supposed to 
   work?

 * Confirming the same issue with `utf8mb4_general_ci`. After change `utf8_general_ci`
   to `utf8mb4_general_ci` plugin started to work.

 * Even with ‘COLLATE utf8mb4_general_ci’, it doesn’t find anything in display_name,
   first_name, last_name, custom field.

 * Hi all, I will look into this immediately and get it corrected as soon as possible.

 * alysko, I am very happy to hear that it is working for you now! Has anyone else
   had a chance to upgrade? I want to make sure that this version fixes the issue
