• I tried both the automatic and manual installation, and nothing worked. The only thing that would display is the “no posts found” message I had set. If I search my site for words in common, of course a lot of posts show up, so why doesn’t this plugin at the very least find those? I’ve seen in the support forums that other people are having a hard time getting results to display, so after trying a few different changes in the settings, etc., I give up. This plugin doesn’t work well at all.

I’ve updated my rating because of the plugin author’s demonstrated commitment. Though I already found another solution, with his support I would likely have solved the problem. Still, I’d rather not have such a big problem when I first install a plugin…

    Julie,

I’m a bit surprised at the 1 rating. Most users post their query in the forums and I am quick to respond to them and sort these out.

The plugin doesn’t use a traditional search method to find the related posts. It uses mySQL’s inbuilt FULLTEXT indexing to find the relevant posts.

Rather than just giving it a bad rating, it would be helpful if you can post your site URL along with the posts you have this message on, so that I can take a look at it rather than having directly given a bad rating.

    Hi Ajay,

I appreciate your concern, of course. To tell you the truth, I at first chose your plugin because it’s been downloaded hundreds of thousands of times, has great ratings and reviews, and seems to have fantastic support. That you cared enough to seek more feedback from me shows that the support does seem to be excellent! So thank you for this chance.

Unfortunately, I’m not willing to spend more time on this when another plugin is working great, and returning the expected results.

It may very well be that your plugin works and that another plugin I’m using was creating some kind of conflict, but if that’s the case, then that’s still a problem I’d rather not get into.

However, regardless of the cause of the problem — and who’s to say what it really was at this point — it didn’t work for me from the get-go, and that’s not good. I wouldn’t want to constantly have to be coming back for more support, no matter how good it is. And I didn’t want to have to wait to see results when it should have been something simple in the first place.

So ultimately, I have to stick to my guns, but wish you the best of luck because clearly, it works for most people.

    Julie,

Thanks for the response. I wish I could have changed your mind on this.

Glad to know you found a plugin that works and gives you the results.
