Support » Plugin: WPPC Bulk Photo to Product Importer Extension for WooCommerce (Free) » Doesn't work, possibly corrupts database

  • Something is amiss with this plugin and there is no way to contact the developer. Either by drag and drop or multi file select, it starts to upload but stalls on the first one. It does not create a product in the Woo Catalog. I had it working at one time for one test, but then subsequently, it just fails at every attempt. Also, won’t upload unless I select a variation, which there are none.

  • I’m sorry to hear about your experience Jefferis. We’ve responded to your email at support@ourdomain.com but didn’t receive a reply. It sounds like maybe it went to your spam?

Here is your quoted original message:
“I am trying to install the premium bulk loader but keep getting the following error message:

    ‘Unpacking the package…
    Installing the plugin…
The package could not be installed. No valid plugins were found.
    Plugin install failed.’

When I try to install it by itself, it says I need to install the free version first. Please help me resolve this issue. My serial number is 2be714ee9a3498e37f6878e84d7d2d0b”

    And here was our response:
“This is not an issue any other users have reported they experienced nor is it something we’ve experienced on our development servers to date. Can you confirm that you installed and activated the Free version before attempting to install and activate the Premium version?”

Regarding the uploading error, can you confirm who your host is and that your server meets the requirements?

Regarding the last item you need to create Variations before uploading photo’s. There is a “?” tool tip that displays some content explaining this if you hover over it.

We’re really sorry to hear you had any trouble contacting us but it sounds like our response just didn’t make it to you somehow. We’re hear for you!

HI, I got this message in email. I may have found a problem related to ownership and permissions on plugins using my host’s installer, that made the ownership of all WP installed items as Nobody, preventing proper operation of the plugins and uploads of photos. I will find out if it corrected later in the week, as I’m swamped right now.

Okay, thank you for the response. We’ll wait for your reply.

Okay, I have it working I think. However, there is a real problem. It will not let me import products and images without variations. None of the products I want to import have variations. And the date is not needed. Not sure what to do about it but it isn’t very useful with that limitation. I have to assign a false variation to the product which gets in the way of what I need to do after it is imported.
My solution was to create a variation called NONE, but it doesn’t allow for easy modification to 5o products.

    Hi Jefferis,

Are you aware that if you create a Variation called “Downloadable” that it will turn it into a WooCommerce Downloadable Product? Essentially treating it like it has no Variation?

    Hi,
I have the same desire to have no variations (or dates).

At your suggestion, I used “downloadable”, but it’s ended up basically just a dummy variation. On the shop page, each says “view variations” under it, which is misleading because there are no variations.

I would buy the paid version if I could have gotten it working the first day (see below) and had the features available (or less features option).

I am also having an issue where I upload the images, but when I click “continue and save” it just hangs forever. The images eventually showed up as products anyway (and actually doubled for some reason so I’ll have to delete the dupes).

BTW I am using that crazy uncommon theme 2012, & I am still building. Any advice would be much appreciated! Thank you, great idea!

Hi Wemfud, thanks for the bump on this topic. Regarding your issue with the hanging, please refer to this post (particularly the bottom).

Something I’d like to understand is if you have no Variations then how do you all expect customers to purchase your products? (Honest question). Variations is the only mechanism for purchasing photos, particularly selecting multiple photo’s and purchasing them all apart of a single Variation (for example someone choose 100 photo’s and chooses the “Photo Album” Variation).

Ah, it looks like your latest update fixed the variations issue, now the date perhaps?

    Thank you again!

Hi Wermfud, that’s interesting because nothing in our latest update could have had any impact on Variations. It must have been something with your configuration but we’re glad to hear it’s functioning the way you expect.

Regarding the date, would you please refer to the post we mentioned and start a new thread if that doesn’t answer your question?

Also responding to the question above would be great appreciated.

    Thanks!
