• Did not get anything on posts or custom posts that looked like the screen shots. Since all posts are assigned an ID, it would seem to me they are hierarchical by definition. As I understand the plugin, it only works on non-hierarchical posts so how would it work at all.

  • The plugin works exactly as described, for custom post types and normal post types that are non-hierarchical. Post ID has nothing to do with hierarchy, it is simply an arbitrary number assigned to the post to differentiate. By default, posts are typically ordered by post date anyhow, not post ID.

The plugin works as described and with 100+ reviews of 5 stars and only 9 of 1 star it would seem as though you’re doing something incorrectly.

After you install and activate there will be a ‘re-order’ link under each post type. Click that…

I use this plugin on nearly every site I build and haven’t had a single issue with implementation or usage.

I probably didn’t do it right. So will give it another go. I have installed on a test bed running the Namaste LMS plugin which is a custom post type. Sorry I was not more specific before. I wanted to reorder the lessons using your plugin. I don’t get any screens period. Nothing. I looked at your screenshot and there is nothing I can find that looks like your DnD screenshot.

There is a reorder link on the regular posts and it works like you said.
I have installed your other two plugins and they don’t work exactly right with the Namaste LMS either. That developer has it locked down for custom taxonomies as far as I can tell so the post terms won’t work because there are no taxonomies associated with the courses. And I don’t know how to add those to the screens. If you want, I can make you a camtasia video of what I see.

I’m not the plugin author and don’t provide any support for the plugin – just a happy user of this plugin.

I installed all three plugins of the author. The taxonomy plugin showed a dnd for the course modules under the regular posts section. So they could be reordered. The Namaste developer has pro version which allows reordering of course lessons and such so he probably has it locked down so it won’t display the items of this series of plugins. But for regular posts and some custom taxonomies, it seems to work well.
