    Hi,
I installed this plugin and put the shortcode in a sidebar widget. I initially thought it didn’t work at all: the badge was rendered and showed team member count, but clicking on it did nothing except a white arrow beneath the button. I then hand-expanded the widget box with lorem text and saw a pop-up was getting cut off.

I tried editing the z-index on .invite-box-wrapper on the style.css for this plugin but it didn’t seem to do anything.

    How can I fix this?

Thanks for the plugin, it seems to work great other than this CSS issue.

    Howdy,

Thanks for letting me know. I hadn’t considered what would happen if it’s in a div that hides it’s overflow.

I’ll add some more JavaScript that will move the popup to the body and absolute position it below the button/badge.

    Good catch!

    Cheers,
    Rheinard

    Hi Rheinard,
Just updated and tried it out. Works great, thanks!

    Oops, actually… one more thing.

Now that I can click on the button, I enter my email address, click the button, and it will say ‘Processing…’ and then ‘”channel_not_found”. Let us know!’.

Does the channel already exist in Slack? If it doesn’t it you will get that “error” returned.

I’ll at least clean up the ugly error message and make it more descriptive.

If the channel does exist and you’re not getting joined to it, let me know and I’ll try to hunt down the issue.

    Updated again.

This should now hopefully work for you.

    Works great now, thanks!

To answer your previous question, I tried both ‘general’ and ‘#general’ as the channel to automatically join, both gave the error. But when I tried it now, with it still being set to ‘#general’, it all worked.

    Cheers!
