• Not at all working in most installations. Why develop something awesome and not provide the support, instead have bugs and asking us to fork with the .php file?

I have 4 custom roles for which I need restricted access in front-end menus. I’ve been waiting for this plugin to work, but doesn’t do what it’s supposed to do.

Not working at all? I get that you are disappointed that you are presumably experiencing a conflict, but that’s completely false as 100+ 5-star reviews and 60,000+ installs attest too. I’ve never asked anyone to fork the plugin to fix a bug in the plugin itself, so that’s also false. No code is 100% bug free, but this one has been reasonably well tested and is obviously in use by quite a few people.

Not provide support? I’m replying to you immediately. I just got up and this is the first thing I am doing, even though this plugin is 100% free and you aren’t owed support at all. And you were hardly friendly in asking for help, nor provided any useful debugging info. My FAQ is extensive and detailed, because the problem you are likely experiencing (you didn’t actually say) is the number ONE most frequent problem. The FAQ explains why why this is a limitation of WordPress CORE itself, it would have shown you the trac ticket where we’ve been waiting for WordPress to resolve this issue for 6 years, and provides TWO workarounds.

There’s no guarantee that the millions of WordPress plugins will all work together in harmony. That’s impossible. But it is not my responsibility to provide free customization work on other people’s plugins and themes in order to ensure compatibility. I have provided a detailed procedure for how to fix your plugin/themes to work with mine if the authors of said plugins/themes won’t add compatibility.

Please follow standard debugging procedures of disabling all other plugins and switching to a default theme. Then re-enable everything one by one to isolate the issue. Or NMR may have shown you a conflict warning which would tell you mostly where the problem is. Then read the FAQ which clearly explains how to handle a conflict.

If your roles aren’t created the standard WordPress way and therefore don’t exist in the global $wp_user_roles variable my plugin cannot detect them automatically. But that is also covered in the FAQ and I would advise switching to a plugin such as Members which is known to work very well with NMR.

If you are still experiencing an issue then you need to post quite a few more details about your environment and what you are experiencing.

I hope you have a great day.

    hear hear 🙂
