 * Trying to drop a short code in the basic settings to that I can drop a button
   in there and have it stick in the same place on every page. Is that possible?

 * Hi there,
 * Shortcodes are not part of my plugin, no. The plugin requires you to add an HTML
   classname or ID.
 * Sorry!

 * Maybe I approach this from a different direction. I’m trying to put a button
   that floats at the same spot on every page of the site (except maybe one) that
   drives users to a particular page (get a quote, make an appointment, etc). Is
   there any way to do this with Sticky Menu? All I need is a customization element
   that will stay put all the time.

 * If the button is already on the pages of your site, then my plugin will be able
   to make it sticky.
 * Are you able to share a link to your site so I can see what you might need to
   configure?

 * unfortunately I cannot yet since it’s in development. We used [https://wordpress.org/plugins/maxbuttons/](https://wordpress.org/plugins/maxbuttons/)
   to create a button that is shortcode driven. It used to be no problem sticking
   it to the page globally but since the update that’s messed up. Right now, the
   only way to use these buttons now is to actually drop the shortcode somewhere
   on the page – which is not what I’m trying to do

 * Right. For my plugin, it makes no difference if the button is created with regular
   code or a plugin or anything — what matters is the final HTML code that’s being
   used on the page, and then you can use the classname or selector to target the
   element.
 * But, without seeing the page itself (or the source code) I won’t be able to see
   what this classname/selector should be.
