  • This is bit strange. I have always had wp-config.php one directory above the root (of WP core). Never had this issue. Are you using the current version of WP core and WP Super Cache plugin?

    Absolutely!

    Have you had any similar issues with other files? For example, some servers are set to use file cache that cause such issues. When a file is moved to another location (rather than copied), the server caches the file in the old location, but WP somehow detects the new location, but not WP Super Cache. If WP core can detect the new location, of course WP Super Cache should, too. The problem is how to replicate this error. If you can replicate it (assuming file cache is the reason), you may file a report at https://github.com/Automattic/wp-super-cache where there is lot more activity (from the developers) than here. If there’s no file cache at the server level, I can’t think of any other way to troubleshoot it.
